Tony was never keen on going to the Doctors never mind the hospital. It took me months to get him to hospital the first time in 2019. When he went he only wanted the Consultant to look at his leg because we were going on a cruise in 3 days time. He was shocked to be admitted  as an in patient and frightened to be moved swiftly from the walk in part through to A&E and then to resucitation. After his discharge a fortnight later he did admit he felt much better. However, his constant refrain was that as long as he was sitting in his chair, suitably fed and watered, watching his television programs he didn’t know he was ill. He had got used to living with low oxygen and changed his life accordingly. In fact even the day he went into hopsital this final time he still told the Doctor during triage that he felt fine even though he was seriously ill.
