We went on holiday to Turkey. This was at the start oftourism in Turkey. We opted for a 2 centre holiday, the first week on a gullet cruise and the 2nd in a self catering apartment by the beach in Bodrum. 

The gullet cruise was fabulous, a boat for 12 guests, sailing along the coast. The crew made fabulous meals and we spent the time in the water swimming or walking along coastal paths when we weren’t sailing. As usual i had difficulty getting back on board from a swim as the ladder just skimmed the top of the water.

The 2nd week was entirely different. The accommodstion was dire. As i didn’t want to spend any time there we explored the watersports facilities and learnt to windsurf. We spent our days in the bay gradually spending more time on board and less in the water. We enjoyed the windsurfing so much that when we came home we bought our own boards and used them in Mersea and on suitable reservoirs.
